Nafta Agreement Missigned

As Trump can claim recognition of an economic boom in the USMCA, economists have said it is more of a white house function, which retains most of the existing deal after initially threatening to withdraw completely from NAFTA without replacement. The new agreement provides that 40% of cars will end up being made in countries that pay at least $16 an hour to car workers – that is, the US and Canada, not Mexico – to qualify for duty-free treatment under the trade pact. It also demands that Mexico follow labour law reforms to promote independent trade unions.
